Manuel Medrano, or as some of you know him by, “Manny or Pollo” is July 2024 Senior of the Month. Whatever you call him, you probably know him as the mechanic in La Union. He owned and operated the La Union shop for 37 years. Many of us were saved from expensive car repairs thanks to Manny. He is a good person because he made sure that when we brought our vehicle problems to him, we could get to work or school in a safe car after he fixed them. Manny took care of our families, especially because, we lived in a rural area without much transportation, and Manny made sure we were safe on the road. He paid close attention to and knew our cars well.

Manny is very valuable in the community.

He is the proud father of four children. He has two daughters, two sons, and numerous grandchildren as well. Unfortunately, he and his wife tragically lost their two sons. His hobbies include horse racing, fishing and golf.

Manny is truly a treasured Community Hero!
