Solar lighting at the La Union Community Park and Walking Trail
Twelve solar-powered lights were placed on existing poles at the park. Lighting will not only enhance the park but also provides greater safety and increased accessibility for residents after hours. The lights are very essential because it was pitch black, dark out by the field, and quite dangerous. Our residents must feel safe. Without lighting, bad things can happen. The installation of the lights at the community walking trail is part of a larger project that includes the walking trail. We have worked together with New Mexico State University to lend us a hand in the construction of the trail. The installation of the lighting will enhance the number of people walking and boost their health. AARP has provided the lighting with a grant to the La Union community.
