We are happy to announce that La Union is a
2024 AARPCommunityChallenge grantee!
This project was made possible for the community due to the generous support of AARP
We are very excited to get started on our project funded by @AARPLivableCommunities and AARP NM SLapsley@aarp.org
This grant will enable us to:
Walking Trail Park: install solar lighting consisting of 12 lights on existing poles. Lighting will not only enhance the park but also provide safety and increased access for residents after hours.
Community Center Area: place crushed rock and large landscaping rocks at the front area of the community center. This landscaping will provide beauty and texture. Only a small amount of maintenance will be required. The crushed rock will prevent erosion from occurring at the site.
Additionally, we plan to place metal art trees or cacti to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the community center, and minimal maintenance will be required.
