Community Service

When we can, let’s all lend a helping hand!

September 10, 2022, Cleanup -- La Union Park and town

We would like to say “Thank you” to all the volunteers mentioned below for helping La Union with our Community Cleanup on Saturday, September 10, 20222.

The volunteers included:

ROTC youth from Gadsden and Santa Teresa and their teachers

Maria and Juan Lara, Dora and Jorge Garcia, Karina Magallanes and their children, Nieves Aldaco, Maryann and Yolanda Galindo, and Marina Medina

The youth collected and bagged trash around town while the adults cut weeds in the park. Next we all cut and picked up trash and weeds. Everyone did a remarkable job working together to improve and beautify La Union.

Many thanks to the La Union Townsite Board for providing delicious deli sandwiches, drinks and chips. Everyone had a good time afterward.

And finally, thank you to the Dona Ana County Codes Department for providing trash grabbers and bags, vests, buckets, and gloves for us to complete our mission. We appreciate your service to La Union.
