Seniors of the Month

February 2023  ---  Millie and Tony Rios

Congratulations  Seniors of the Month

Millie and Tony Rios

Millie and Tony Rios were both born and raised in La Union.  They are fortunate to have raised their family in La Union, two daughters and one son.

They both love living in La Union and are always happy to contribute to the town.

Millie enjoys baking, reading, and gardening. She is enthusiastic about her crossword puzzles. She used to help the church by selling clothing and volunteered with the food pantry by distributing food to parishioners under the supervision of Sister Mary Ellen Quinn. Millie also loved volunteering cooking hamburgers at the yearly Cermez.

Tony loves working outdoors and visiting with friends in the neighborhood. He volunteered at the La Union Fire Department because he liked helping townspeople. Sister Mary Ellen developed a Youth Work Program, and Tony was one of the supervisors who believed in mentoring our youth. He also cooked hamburgers at the yearly Cermez.

Congratulations Millie and Tony. You both are very worthy of being recognized as Seniors of the Month of February. Both of you freely gave of your time to make the lives of our residents a little better. Helping our families and friends --- that’s what life is all about. Thank you both, you are very much appreciated!
