October 2022 --- Evangelina and Benjamin Sainz

Congratulations Vangie and Ben Sainz.

We are grateful for all your contributions

Vangie & Ben Sainz

Ben and Vangie Sainz were born and raised in La Union, New Mexico. Throughout their years together, they have been continuously dedicated to being involved in their community. Early on, Ben became involved with the Anthony Fire Department as a volunteer fire Marshall. Over time, Ben helped fundraise for establishing La Union’s own fire department. Meanwhile, Vangie volunteered at church and taught catechism. During this time, they realized the current church building become outdated as more members of the community attended ceremonies. The space was too small to hold mass and the amenities we’re limited or inaccessible. At this time, Vangie and Ben initiated plans to build a new church that would be big enough and welcoming for everybody. They worked hard to sell burritos, tamales, and gorditas to raise funds for the project. Eventually they turned their dream into a reality and were able to build the community a new church. Devoted to their faith, Mr. and Mrs. Sainz remained involved within the church community after the completion of the church. Vangie went on to become the President of the Perish, coordinating church activities, events, weddings, and holding marriage council, and Ben became an Usher and assistant to the Priest. Both of them were Holy Eucharist Ministers for many years. Additionally, Ben and Vangie have participated in many Holiday Parades and continue to do so each year.
